Turkey Day Challenge 2012

Hello? Anyone there?

So I start a blog about personal training and my experiences and just disappear? No way. Truthfully, I’m busier than ever and just having trouble figuring out how to fit blogging into my new life—but I’m not giving up! Also, we didn’t have home internet until this week.

The last time I posted I had received my personal trainer t-shirt at the gym I work for and was pumped to finally get started. Since then I have been promoted from working a few hours here and there at the service desk to being the full-time assistant service desk director. I love my job and the members I come into contact with daily. I’m still training, too! Training is not my full-time job and I’m okay with that—I still get to spend my day at the gym and get paid for it… a dream come true for me.

Turkey Day Challenge

Today’s post was actually inspired by GPP—Neil has issued a challenge to anyone who wants to take it up. I’m game, but with a twist.

There are 3 parts to this challenge that you must commit to:

  1. NO ADDED SUGAR until Thanksgiving day.
  2. You must complete 5 GPP workouts per week (4 strength training/cardio sessions + 1 cardio workout weekly)
  3. You are to pick a health related challenge to stick to: Tracking my meals and snacks DAILY.

For every “penalty”—workout missed, sugary food consumed, or day of tracking missed—I will donate 1 can of food to the local food bank bought from my personal, for-fun, budget.

Additionally, I will blog at least twice a week. I want to share workouts, fun meals, and my experience balancing (and sometimes no so well) full-time work, family, and my commitment to health.
